Stocks of major telecom
companies, including Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and others, are expected
to remain range-bound to negative
reflecting the broader market sentiment, in absence of any sector
specific trigger.
The stocks are expected to trade
negative to sideways taking cues from the benchmark indices that
are expected to remain subdued.
Not withstanding the effects of the lacklustre market. The stocks are
going through a corrective phase
as sentiment has taken a hit after Reliance Jio announced plans to
launch 4G services later this
year.
Most of the operators were able
to hike tariffs in June-July period, which is positive for the sector.
However, the stocks failed to
reflect that due to the imminent launch of Reliance Jio. Stocks of
sector heavyweights such as
Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular continued to move towards the lower
side and are expected to trade with a sideways to
negative bias.
