Stocks of major automobile
manufacturers are seen rising in the week ahead, consolidating gains
made following the interest rate
cut announced by the Reserve Bank of India Thursday.
The surprise rate cut led the
entire stock market up, with rate sensitive sectors such as
automobiles and real estate
rising particularly well.
The automobile industry had been
affected by the roll-back of excise duty cut earlier this month,
which led manufacturers to hike
vehicle prices. In view of this, the rate cut came as a positive for the industry in the medium term.
