Telecom Stocks Outlook For The Week - 28.05.2018 To 01.06.2018
Pressure on tariffs continues to weigh on sentiments in the telecom sector, and gains made by shares of Bharti Airtel and Idea this week are unlikely to sustain going forward. There was a rebound in many telecom stocks this week, but investors are not convinced about the sector yet. Now, the concern is that if the tariff war continues, maybe even Reliance Jio (Infocomm) may take a hit. The price war was started by Reliance Jio Infocomm when it launched its service in September 2016, leading to a fall in average revenue per user of the incumbent operators. We expect pricing pressure to weigh on the sector's earnings.
