Stocks of cement manufacturers are expected to remain bearish next week but improvements in
demand and pricing are expected to gradually take shape now as festivals and the monsoon season
have come to an end.
Over the last two weeks showed that cement prices across India remained flat as the price hike in
the eastern and western parts of the country was offset by a decline in rates in the north and south.
Companies are trying to increase price but have not succeeded yet.
Next week, stocks are likely to be guided by domestic triggers. The US presidential election on
Tuesday is not going have any impact on stocks of cement companies.
Cement manufacturers have been severely beaten in the last couple of months. Stocks were weighed
down by over-valuation of stocks and as monsoons and festival season slow down construction
activity.
All major cement companies that declared their earnings for the September quarter--ACC, UltraTech
Cement, Ambuja Cements, and JK Lakshmi Cement--see short-to-long-term cement demand to be
positive, led by government-issued infrastructure projects and due to a normal monsoon this year.
